BRETTON
FESTIVAL 2007..........................................Great
Day Out For All
Despite
the washout of recent years and indeed the drizzle
in the morning, Bretton Festival 2007 managed to stop
the rain and, for a short while at least, get some
sunshine going!
Opened by Deputy Mayor, Councillor Pat Nash OBE, this
year's festival had a busy field full of stalls and
activities, the Viking re-enactment group, dancers
and live music. New attractions included a climbing
wall, bucking bronco, gladiator jousting and table
football. All these proved very popular so similar
events are likely to feature at future festivals.
We also had a successful car boot sale with sellers
reporting a good day of profit.
Overall, we were delighted to see so many Bretton residents
there making use of the field and the festival. We would
like to thank all those who put significant amounts of their
own time into helping, not only with the organising of the
event before the day, but also providing their invaluable
assistance on the day in making sure everything ran smoothly,
including the two MCs who, as always, did a fabulous job!
We would also like to thank the sponsors Fusion Insurance
Services, Sainsbury's, and Peterborough City Council for
their support of last year's event.
Last year's success gives us lots to build on for this
year. If
you would like to get involved in this years event,
for which the planning has already begun, please contact
the clerk or click the Bretton Festival link on our contact
page.
